Day 1QuitoQuito, where you will be met by your Local Host.
Day 2Amazon LodgeFly to Coca and travel by motorized CANOE to your selected Amazon lodge, your home base for the next three nights. (B,L,D)
Day 3Amazon LodgeAt the Napo Wildlife Center: Your time in the Amazon accompanied by a Local Guide includes early morning EXCURSIONS to parrot clay licks; dugout canoe rides in search of river otters, potoos, kingfishers, hoatzins, jacamars, hawks, and monkeys; and walks along the canopy platform to view Spider Monkeys, aracaris, toucans, Blue and Gold Macaws, numerous species of tanagers, and the Red-Rumped Cacique. In your free time, consider a walk through the jungle in search of interesting plants and colorful or well-camouflaged insects. You are also invited to join families of the Anangu indigenous community on their daily activities, such as harvesting bananas, coco, manioc, or preparing chichi. (B,L,D daily)

At the Sacha Lodge: During your stay, enjoy EXCURSIONS with a Naturalist who introduces you to the Amazon. On the suspended rainforest canopy walk your Naturalist points out many different species of vibrantly colored birds. Jungle walks show off the immense biodiversity and medicinal plants that have been used by the native cultures for hundreds of years. Visit the lodge's butterfly house, one of Ecuador's largest, and take a night walk or canoe ride with a Local Guide to discover creatures that can rarely be seen during the day! You will also cruise through the flooded forest in search of troops of squirrels, capuchin, and howler monkeys-and maybe even the incredibly well camouflaged 3-toed sloth. After fishing for piranhas, arrive at the Kapok Tree tower, perched 135-feet high. Get close-up views of birds as the sun sets on volcanic Mount Sumaco and the Andes. (B,L,D daily)

At the La Selva Lodge: During your stay, enjoy EXCURSIONS with a Naturalist who introduces you to the Amazon. Breakfast is served early because there is so much to see and do! There are a number of activities, including a visit to the parrot clay lick, a trip to a local community, or an excursion to the observation tower to see birds and monkeys. The activity included will depend on many factors, including the weather and what you prefer to do. After lunch, try your hand at piranha fishing, take a nap, or read a book during the hottest hours of the day. In the afternoon, included activities consist of a canoe ride around the lagoon, a short trail walk to hopefully see pygmy marmosets, or visit the nearby butterfly farm. Included evening excursions will be available after dinner, if you so choose. Alternatively, many guests prefer to relax in the lounge with a cold drink or have a soothing massage in the spa! Day 6QuitoYour private city TOUR showcases the rich legacy left by the Incas and, later, the Spaniards. See Independence Square, dominated by its formidable Cathedral, San Francisco Plaza Church, and the Basilica with its marvelous stained-glass windows. (B)
Day 7Galapagos Cruising: Santa Cruz IslandTake a morning flight to Baltra, one of the remote Galapagos Islands. Upon arrival, travel with your expert Naturalist through the highlands of SANTA CRUZ ISLAND, where you will learn about the unique ecosystems of the archipelago. After lunch, travel to EL CHATO RESERVE to see and learn about the Galapagos Giant Tortoises living in the wild. Head to Puerto Ayora, where you will board the luxury La Pinta, your home for the next four nights. (B,L,D)
Day 8Cruising: Santa Cruz IslandAfter breakfast, disembark on the green-colored beaches of Whale Bay on SANTA CRUZ ISLAND. Walk along a trail that leads to an old watering hole once used by former settlers and keep an eye out for boobies, land birds, and marine iguanas. This afternoon, explore the tiny island of SOMBRERO CHINO, which gets its name from its appearance: a Chinese hat. This islet, only formed fairly recently, makes for a beautiful visit as you explore the wildlife along its quarter-mile-long trail, which begins at a crescent-shaped, white sandy beach. The cove offers excellent swimming and snorkeling opportunities with white-tipped reef sharks and Galapagos penguins. (B,L,D)
Day 9Cruising: Bartolome & Santiago IslandsDisembark at BARTOLOME ISLAND and hike to the summit for a stunning view of two beautiful bays and fascinating formations of lava flows and spatter cones, including iconic Pinnacle Rock. You will also have the chance to snorkel and possibly see Galapagos penguins in tropical waters and even some sharks! This afternoon on SANTIAGO ISLAND, land at Sullivan Bay, an area covered in extensive lava fields formed about 100 years ago. The white-sand beach is great for swimming and snorkeling and is also where you can spot Galapagos penguins, sea lions, Sally Lightfoot crabs, blue-footed boobies, and maybe even a Galapagos hawk. Day 10Cruising: Genovesa IslandThis morning, disembark at Darwin Bay on GENOVESA ISLAND to observe thousands of birds-mainly frigatebirds, red-footed and masked boobies, gulls, herons, finches, and mockingbirds. Return to the beach for swimming and snorkeling in this beautiful natural harbor. Later today, visit Prince Philip's Steps, beginning with a scenic panga ride along the cliffs to see the large number of shorebirds and seabirds nesting in the cliffs' ledges. Disembark at the base of Prince Philip's Steps and climb up the stairs to a trail where birdlife abounds. A walk with your Naturalist reveals large colonies of masked boobies, blue-footed boobies, frigatebirds, storm petrels, and even short-eared owls. (B,L,D)
Day 11GuayaquilAfter breakfast, disembark your ship in Baltra and head to the airport for your flight to Guayaquil. (B)

    Booking your Vacation with Air
    For air departure dates within 331 days, you'll be offered a choice of carriers and flight schedules as well as price points to choose from when selecting your flights. Your schedule will be provided to you at the time of booking (schedules are subject to change by carriers). Monograms offers 2 air options: Flex Air and Instant Purchase Air. Flex Air allows flexibility if you want to make changes to your vacation schedule. Instant Purchase Air may offer additional airline options but has more restrictions. Some vacations may only offer one Air type option. Guaranteed air-inclusive prices: air is only available to passengers traveling from the United States and only available when booked in conjunction with a land vacation. An additional $300 per person non-refundable air deposit is required for Flex Air booked in conjunction with any land vacation (i.e. air-inclusive vacation). Air can only be booked by Monograms in conjunction with a vacation package. Instant Purchase Air requires air payment in full at time of booking (i.e. air-inclusive vacation) plus non-refundable service fee ($30 per person for North America, $80 per person for South Pacific, $50 per person for all other destinations). Once booked, Instant Purchase Air is non-refundable, and non-changeable. Some vacations may only offer one Air type option.
