2017: Cruising the Galapagos on board the La Pinta (ISL)

8 days from Quito to Guayaquil

In Kurt Vonnegut's novel Galapagos, a cruise through the Galapagos Islands becomes an evolutionary journey for the passengers on board. Your cruise to the Galapagos? Unlike the book, your cruise probably won't change the course of human evolution, but it is sure to be a highlight of your life. And Monograms will handle all of the details for you, so you can just savor the experience. On this 8-day vacation package, we've arranged your hotel and cruise accommodations, most of your meals, sightseeing, and transportation. Plus, a one-of-a-kind feature is the Monograms Local Host, someone in Quito to ensure your vacation runs smoothly and you get the most from your trip.

Your vacation starts the moment you arrive in Quito. We can pick you up at the airport and seamlessly take you to your selected hotel, where your Local Host will give you a warm welcome and materials to prepare you for your trip. The next day, after an included breakfast, we'll pick you up at your hotel for a private tour of the city with a local expert. Hear the fascinating stories and little-known facts as you visit must-see sights like Independence Square, San Francisco Plaza Church, and the basilica. Then you're off to the Galapagos Islands, where your cruise ship is waiting.

On your 4-night cruise aboard the La Pinta, all your meals are included. You'll visit Santa Cruz Island, where you'll see and learn about the Galapagos giant tortoises in their natural habitat; Sombrero Chino, with a cove offering excellent swimming and snorkeling opportunities with white-tipped reef sharks and Galapagos penguins; Bartolome Island, where you'll hike to the summit for a spectacular view of two beautiful bays and fascinating formations of lava flows; Santiago Island, where you'll have the opportunity to swim and snorkel by the white-sand beach and where you can see Galapagos penguins, sea lions, blue-footed boobies, and more; and Genovesa Island, where you'll take a panga ride along the cliffs to see the shore and seabirds nesting on the cliffs' ledges, and where you'll climb up Prince Phillip's Steps to see masked boobies, blue and red-footed boobies, frigatebirds, and more. Throughout the cruise, you'll take guided walks and cruises with your expert Naturalists, who will answer questions, point out the wildlife, and help make your vacation a magical experience.

The Galapagos Islands are a destination like no other, and we want you to stop dreaming and experience them instead. That's why we've handled all the logistics for you. That doesn't include the cost of your time or the hassles and stress saved by letting us take care of everything for you. So what are you waiting for? The amazing wildlife in the Galapagos is waiting for you!
